A national NHS programme is open to entries from innovators with an idea to develop and scale to make a difference to patients.
The NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme is open and welcoming applications from all healthcare professionals from the 3 October – 6 November 2022. This year long programme is free and open to all NHS staff.
Budding entrepreneurs at Newcastle Hospitals – both clinical and non clinical – can apply for this ground-breaking programme that is helping bring innovations into the NHS to improve patient care.

The NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme, delivered by Anglia Ruskin University, is the biggest entrepreneurial workforce development programme of its kind. Open to all NHS staff; both clinical and non-clinical, it aims to provide NHS staff with the commercial skills, knowledge and experience needed to successfully develop and spread innovative solutions to the challenges facing the NHS.
The curriculum covers all aspects of setting up and running a small business or being an intrapreneur, including attracting investors, applying for funding, communications, and legal and regulatory considerations. Guidance on how to build a start-up – and how to operate in this highly-charged environment is delivered as a series of educational events attended by industry mentors.
