Sister labs the North East Innovation Lab and Novopath are advancing targeted healthcare through their specialist services.
Their scientific expertise is built on decades of real world clinical insight pioneered by Newcastle Hospitals and span from genetic characterisation of disease to the latest advances in digital pathology.
John Tyson, head of the labs, part of Newcastle Hospitals, said: “Every day we are accelerating new diagnostic technology and techniques to enable precision medicine for patients.
“These include digitising our lab diagnostic investigations and analysis at scale to train, develop and deploy the next generation of AI solutions. We continue to validate leading edge diagnostic tests to develop new and innovative products, and our work is supported by our Newcastle Hospitals Biobank of clinically characterised biospecimens and data to support our research.”
