The North East Innovation Lab works to accelerate the development of new in vitro diagnostic tests by providing clinical samples and independent evaluation and validation services.
The lab brings together the NHS, academia and industry and since launching in January 2021, the team has engaged with over 70 potential clients from across the globe from the USA to Australia and worked with national and international companies to evaluate their diagnostics and develop scientific testing protocols.
Commercial manager Melanie Shield and senior scientist Dr Donna Nile who manages the lab’s biobank are exhibiting at The Scotsman Life Sciences Conference 2022 in Glasgow this week.
Melanie said: “We’re looking forward to sharing more about our work on a regional, national and international footing and hearing about the growing life science sector in Scotland.
