Our North East Innovation Lab hosted a visit with Sam Volpe health reporter at Chronicle Live, to share more about our journey since opening 18 months ago.
Head of the lab Dr John Tyson and Amanda Winter, diagnostic evaluation healthcare specialist, gave Sam a tour and introduced him to the team of 10 scientists, commercial and quality managers.
Amanda talked about current projects, including:
The share of £218k funding from Cancer Research UK (CRUK) for a collaborative project to develop a new diagnostic for the early detection of pancreatic cancer.
The £20,000 research funding from NIHR (National Institute for Health and Care Research) and The Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, in collaboration with NIHR Newcastle IVD Co-operative, which strengthens our joint expert offer for diagnostic developers.
