Four fellowships at the Freeman Hospital’s cardiothoracic centre – one of the country’s major heart and lung units. Typically one to two positions in each specialty are available on a competitive basis each year.Our international clinical fellowship programme takes place for a maximum period of 24 months, though most placements are for 12 months.
It gives healthcare professionals with higher postgraduate qualifications the opportunity to join us to build their existing clinical experience whilst supporting our hospital teams and services.
The programme aims to develop future healthcare leaders through offering structured hands-on training and experience of system leadership, transformational change and service improvement that will equip them with the skills to lead in complex and integrated healthcare environments.
How we can help with the process
We will assist with guidance and recommendations at every step of the pre-arrival process, ensuring a smooth transition into the new role. This includes providing support for interview, a learning objectives discussion, and advice on relocation, accommodation, visa, opening a bank account and local induction.
Certificate of completion
- Each successful candidate will receive a Certificate of Completion of Clinical Fellowship from Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
